For the Parent::Battle Cry

We are all meant for great things. Each of us has gifts, talents and abilities that we can leverage for both our own success, and for the betterment of society. You could say that we are “Destined for Greatness”. Why then, do we struggle with feelings of inadequacy, failure and fear? Why do we fail to live up to our full potential? The razor-thin margin between success and failure can often be attributed to the difference in taking the path of least resistance versus having the courage to face each circumstance with courage and strength. Valor is not just for the battlefield. #Valor is not just for the battlefield. We all want to see our kids live up to their full potential and to see them change the world for the better. We all want to see our kids live up to their full potential and to see them change the world for the better. Let’s make sure we instill within them the Valor to unlock their potential, conquer their fears and rise up!

For Your Son::Call to Arms

You are a special person. Yeah, I know you’ve probably heard that from your mom or dad, grandparents and whoever else – but it’s true. Let me explain. You have a rare blend of traits, skills and talents (let’s call them gifts) that make you the unique person that you are. We are all special in this way. These gifts give us unlimited potential for success and to make the world a better place – provided we use them! Unfortunately, it is very easy to waste these gifts. The key to unlocking this potential is Valor. Too often, we let fear (fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of the unknown) keep us from doing what we must do to succeed. Too often, we let fear keep us from doing what we must do to succeed. Why? Because it can be much easier to simply “go with the flow” than to choose courage. We must decide to have Valor each and every day so that we can overcome our fears, and live the life that we were meant to live! We must decide to have #Valor each and every day so we can overcome our fears, and live the life we were meant to live!

Weekend Activity

This is an excellent opportunity for you as a parent to encourage your Warrior Poet. Sit down with him and together help him list out his strengths and weaknesses. Discuss with him how he can improve on his weaknesses but also praise him for his strengths and ask him how he can use these strengths to his advantage. This exercise is important because down the road, the cross-section of who he is, what interests him and what he’s good at will help him determine his purpose and give him a drive to succeed!
