Far too often, we sacrifice the things that were meant to last in order to get things that are temporary. But if you lose them in the process of attaining the “perfect job”, you will find yourself with nothing when it's over.

When this happens, we find ourselves valuing the opinion of our boss over our family. We put our best into the wrong places, believing that it will be rewarded and then are crushed when those affections are not returned. Do your best at your job, but give your best to your family and friends, for they will be with you long after your boss is gone. Ask this question: Why is family so important?

Your family is meant to be a part of your life. Not a part of a moment, nor for a season, but for your whole life. [ [tweetthis url="http://bit.ly/1QjdPTb" hidden_hashtags="#Wisdom"]Your family is meant to be a part of your life. Not just part of a moment, or a season.[/tweetthis] ] As you grow up, you will think there are things far more interesting than your family, and that’s okay, it's good to have interests. But never let those interest take priority over your family. Family will be with you long after interests or jobs fade.

Weekend Activity

Plan a family trip together. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or expensive, but make sure all members participate in the planning. Put it on the calendar and protect it. If you feel like you are having to plan too far out, you may need to cancel some things to make the trip a priority.
