We all procrastinate. We put things off until tomorrow that we should have done today. Most of the time, we don’t notice it. Occasionally, it bites us, we miss a deadline or a bill, and we pay for it. It may smart for a moment, but then we learn our lesson.

This is fine for minor things, but when time with our family is put in that category, you are playing with fire. Wisdom says don’t put the important things off, or you will regret the result. Ask this question: Have you ever put anything off?

I know you have. Maybe I asked you to clean your room and you left it to go play. Or maybe you were asked to help around the house and you put it off until you finished your TV show. Those times may have gotten you into a little trouble, but there is more to learn here. If you put off things for later, it is usually because you want something for yourself rather than someone else. So don’t put things off, take care of them, you’ll never regret it.
Weekend Activity

What have you been putting off? As a family, make a list of things that need to be done. Then work together to do it. Make sure you set some reasonable goals so you can accomplish all you need to do in one weekend. When you are done, celebrate all the things you accomplished as a family.
